How do I connect my charm to my graduation cap?
We have designed and patented a quick connect attachment. You carefully slide the hook attached to your chain and charm into the metal that is wrapped around your graduation tassel.
If your metal tassel attachment seems too tight, don't force the quick connector in. I recommend slowly and carefully inserting something about the thickness of a fork tine into the metal ring and gently wiggling it around. It should loosen enough for you to easily slide the quick connect hook in.
I want to have more than one photo attached together. Which option do I choose?
Most of my designs give you the choice to have multiple charms chained together. For one photo, choose the "Single" option. For two photos, "Double." For three photos, "Triple." We do not recommend attaching more than three charms as the length of the chain is too long.
How long will my grad charm be?
If you order a "Single" charm (one photo), the finished photo charm will hang approximately 5 inches from the top of the metal ring on your tassel. "Double" charms will hang approximately 6.5 inches, "Triple" charms will hang approximately 7 inches.
Where does my order ship from?
We are located right outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan in a quaint town called Hudsonville.
Can you use handwriting, a saying, or a drawing?
Yes we can! We can create a charm with nearly anything you'd like, as long as it's in image form. We will contact you if there is any issue before completing your order. If you have a special request or need anything specific, feel free to email us at gradcharms@gmail.com before or after ordering. If you've already placed an order, please note the order number in your email.
I only have an original photo print. How do I get it to you?
If your image is not in digital form, you can easily create a digital image by photographing your existing photo with a cell phone camera. We recommend using good light, being careful to avoid glares or shadows. Make sure you dust the photo before taking your picture, because dust shows up as white specks on the image.
Send the highest resolution photo possible and do not crop the photo too tightly. We will need room to work around the edges of the original photo to crop to the shape of the piece.
Do men wear your graduation charms, too?
Absolutely! We have created 1000s of charms for men to wear on graduation day. If you'd prefer, we also offer pins which can be attached to your graduation cap, robe, or jacket for a pinning ceremony or white coat presentation.
What is your turn-around time?
Our orders normally ship within 48 business hours from when you place your order. There may be a slightly longer lead time during peak graduation months (April & May).
What are the care instructions for my charm?
Each piece I create is waterproof. Please note that if the piece should get wet, you should dry it as soon as you can with a soft cloth. The best advice is to treat your charm as you would any piece of costume jewelry and it will last.
To avoid tarnish and damage, I recommend storing the piece in a Ziploc-style bag or in an air-tight container. Air causes metal to oxidize and dull over time. Using a good jewelry cloth to polish your item also works well.
Can I ship the order to a gift recipient?
Yes! Enter your recipient's address as the shipping address on checkout. Please note that we do not include receipts with gifts sent to an address that differs from the billing address.
Do you offer gift wrapping?

Do you engrave?
My pieces are not engravable, but I can include a special message in your gift box if you'd like.
Can I get my order processed faster?
At checkout, you have the option of choosing an upgraded, faster shipping option. If you need your order in less than two weeks from when you place the order, I highly suggest the Priority Shipping option. If you need it within 7 days, I suggest the Priority Express shipping.
How do you ship my order?
All orders (unless you upgrade your shipping option) will be shipped via USPS First Class mail.
Do you provide a proof?
We are not able to provide proofs. We process more than 200 orders every day with every order handmade and timed for quick delivery. Sending proofs would significantly delay every order and increase our costs to customers. Thank you for understanding.
